The industry was named after the family deity, Sri Navadurga. The boiled paddy was dried in the open yard during the early years of its inception and the production capacity was limited to 10 quintals a day. In 1982 automatic paddy drier was installed and in the subsequent years Sri Navadurga Industries emerged as modernized rice mill with all the processes mechanized. All this was possible due to the promoter’s hard work, perseverance, cooperation of his support-staff and more importantly due to the acceptance of the products by its customers and dealers.

After the sudden sad demise of Bola Venkatesh Vaman Kamath in 1999 his wife Smt. Jayashri Kamath and son Bola Shrikanth Kamath took over the reins of the industry as partners. Smt. Smitha Kamath joined the business as the third partner in the year 2002. Under the new Management the industry has grown many folds over the years.The ever changing technology and the business trends have been incorporated in the industry creating a niche in the boiled rice business.
